5 Reasons We Love Our Kindles (Maybe Even More Than Books)

I have a confession to make. There was once a time when I was anti-Kindle (I know, it’s crazy). I’ve always loved reading, and the feel of a book and the turning of a page was an important part of that experience.

5 Reasons We Love Our Kindles (Maybe Even More Than Books)

But my resistance to the Kindle quickly faded as I started to hear from owners about how it changed the way they read. After hearing this I decided to take a chance on it, and you know what?  I’m hooked. For anyone who has ever considered getting a Kindle or any other e-reader, here are 5 reasons to love them.

Portable: Read anything, anywhere, anytime

Unlike books, Kindles are slim, light, and incredibly easy to carry around. Weighing in at 7.6 ounces (at its heaviest), the Kindle allows you to carry all your books in one compact place. This functionality is perfect for those (like me) who enjoy reading many books at once. Instead of carrying the weight of two or three books onto a plane you can just bring your Kindle! Worried about lugging around a charger everywhere you go? Not to worry because Kindles have a battery life of up to 28 hours while in use, depending on the model you own.

Cost Effective: Save money in the long run

While the Kindle is more expensive than a traditional book, it helps you save money in the long-run. Kindle versions of books are typically cheaper than even paperbacks, with monthly specials that price books at $3.99 or less. As a result, the more you read, the more you save! If you subscribe to  Kindle Unlimited you can explore over 1 million books, and thousands of audiobooks, for $9.99 a month. These features give both avid and casual readers opportunities to save money.

Multi-functional: Benefit from an all-in-one reading device

The reading experience using a Kindle is a complete one that allows you to read the way you like. If you like powering through books, you can do that (and know how much time is left to boot). If you like to immerse yourself in a book, you can use the many functions Kindles offer. From highlighting passages to reading character bios there is something interesting for every reader. You can even tailor your Kindle to your personal preferences to make the experience that much more enjoyable.

Resourceful: Get Access to an impressive library

A lot of my reading comes from personal recommendations, or from bookstore browsing. But, I always feel as though the kind of book I’m in the mood for exists somewhere, but I just don’t know about it. Kindle solves that problem. It gives suggestions based on my genre preferences or books I’ve recently read. Plus the Kindle library is much larger than any bookstore I can find. Chances are you’ll find something you never expected, and it could be the perfect book for you.

Sustainable: Help the environment too

Reading Kindle’s digital content instead of a traditional book can help save trees. The more e-readers used, the fewer trees needed to print books. So we think that’s a huge win. These devices also have incredibly long battery lives, meaning you only need a little power to keep your Kindle running.

Kindle also gets brownie points for their program to recycle their devices when it comes to the end of its useful life. We all know that e-waste is a huge problem affecting our environment, and so knowing that it has a home after you’re done with it makes it a great addition to anyone who wants to be green.

There are many  other benefits of having a Kindle, and each user loves theirs for a specific reason. That being said, we’d love to hear about what perks you all enjoy, so please leave us your favorites in the comments section below!

Adjust the size of your words and the amount of differentiation between the background and the print …..
I absolutely love to read and kindle has made it so easy and enjoyable!!
