In addition, most wearable fitness trackers link up to your MyFitnessPal account, so you don’t have to log those workouts.
MyFitnessPal is one the best free fitness apps that also promotes a social network. If you like having friends share in your fitness journey, you can friend them on the app, much the way you would on other social networking sites. The app lets you know when your friends log workouts
and complete calorie goals for the day, so you can hold each other accountable.
Why it’s the best: Charity Miles donates money to a charity of your choice for every mile you complete during your workout. Now that’s motivation!

I like this app because I appreciate taking fitness classes and doing different types of workouts, but I don’t want to pay the hefty price tag that comes with a gym membership. Workout Trainer may be the app for you if you’re looking to add more diversity to your fitness routine this year.
Why it’s the best: Want to get stronger in 2017? Workout Tracker by Jefit provides custom strength training routines from a database of over 1,300 different weight training exercises. You can choose from routines that align with your specific fitness goals or create your own routines.
A lot of free workout apps focus on cardio driven workouts, but Workout Trainer is a great fitness app for strength training and bodybuilding. It offers detailed, personalized workout goals, that can be accomplished anytime and anywhere.
